Casa Playa is a coastal Mexican restaurant focusing on fresh seafood, seasonal ingredients, and a housemade masa program. The menu from 2026 James Beard Award-winner Chef Sarah Thompson is designed to be family-style, with many interactive, large-format dishes that build on one another, including pork belly al pastor and whole snapper tempura, accompanied by house-made tortillas. The beverage program includes an extensive tequila and mezcal selection that is elevated and inspired by modern, fun, bright, and innovative techniques and flavors featured in specialty cocktails, like the spicy yet cool Obsidian margarita.
Breakfast
Casa Playa is a dinner favorite, but mornings reveal the sunny side of its culinary personality. Start the day with a menu of inventive breakfast dishes: masa pancakes, eggs with papas bravas, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros.
Late Night
Every Friday and Saturday, 10:30 p.m.–close, indulge in tequila, bites, and late-night at Casa Playa in the lounge. Casa Taqueria features tacos, late-night Mexican snacks, platters, and margaritas for you or your crew.

Chef Joe Hou of San Francisco's acclaimed seafood destination comes to the Strip, joining Chef Sarah Thompson for one unforgettable evening at Casa Playa. Friday, June 26 at Casa Playa. Seatings are available at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

In the Kitchen with Chef Sarah Thompson
Mexico captured the heart of Executive Chef Sarah Thompson, the 2026 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Southwest. After attending culinary school in New York and honing her skills at Michelin-starred Marea, Thompson discovered a deeper connection to Mexican cuisine while working at Cosme. "That opened my eyes to a different culture and a cuisine that spoke to me," she says. Thompson traveled throughout Mexico researching ingredients, techniques, and traditions before opening Casa Playa. Those experiences continue to shape the restaurant's acclaimed coastal Mexican menu, which helped earn Thompson the James Beard Foundation's highest regional culinary honor and made her the first female chef on the Las Vegas Strip to receive the distinction.
