The Encore Theater’s got a little something for everyone this November. First, deadpan comedian Sheng Wang returns to Wynn Las Vegas with his hilariously sharp observational humor at Encore at Encore Theater (November 01). Then, Tony Award-winning soprano Lea Salonga takes the stage with Stage, Screen & Everything In Between, deftly demonstrating why Disney tapped her to sing the roles of both Princess Jasmine and Mulan (November 07 and 08). Finally, precocious musical prodigy BØRNS returns to Las Vegas to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his massively successful debut album, Dopamine, with his singular blend of glam rock, indie pop, psychedelia, and EDM on full display in A Decade of Dopamine (November 16).

Sheng Wang

Taipei-born and Houston-raised, with a degree from UC Berkeley, Sheng Wang honed his comedy chops in San Francisco and then New York, before releasing his debut comedy album, Cornucopias are Actually Horrible Containers, in 2015. Later that year, he joined the writer’s room of the hit ABC sitcom, Fresh Off the Boat, where he spent three years as writer, then story editor, and finally, executive story editor.

In 2019, Wang appeared on the HBO special, 2 Dope Queens, and opened for John Mulaney at Clusterfest 2019. Then, in 2022, he teamed up with his old friend, Ali Wong (Wang is the godfather to the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning comedienne/actress/author’s two kids), to film his first one-hour Netflix comedy special, Sweet & Juicy, with Wong directing.

While influenced by comedians Maria Bamford, Robert Hawkins and Dave Atell, those comedy fans new to Wang’s stand-up—full of observational anecdotes, absurdity, short jokes, and non-sequiturs and delivered with the relaxed deadpan of an erudite stoner (he enjoys “exploring botanical gardens and discovering new ways to snack”)—will most likely find it comparable to that of the late, great Mitch Hedberg, which is high praise, indeed.

Lea Salonga: Stage, Screen & Everything in Between

After years of being a child star of stage and screen in her native Philippines (as a tween, she often performed for the Marcos family during state dinners at the Malacañán Palace), Salonga came to prominence as one of the world’s most talented stars in theater, when she originated the role of “Kim” in Miss Saigon, first on London’s West End in 1989 (for which she received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical), and again on Broadway in 1991 (for which she won the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Theatre World, and Tony Awards, becoming the first actress of Asian descent and the second youngest performer to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical).

A soprano noted for having perfect pitch, Salonga—who credits Karen Carpenter, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie Andrews, ABBA, The Osmonds, and Elaine Paige as her greatest influences—has been widely praised for her vocal technique, focused vibrato, precise diction, expressive interpretation, and the clarity of her tone, with the Observer’s Rex Reed describing her voice as “clear and sparkling as Baccarat crystal.”

Beyond Broadway, where she also starred with great acclaim in Les Misérables—first as Éponine (1993), and again as Fantine (2007)—Flower Drum Song (2002) and Once on This Island (2019), both of which earned her Grammy-nominations, and most recently, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, both in the West End (2023) and on Broadway (2025); she is also known around the world for giving voice to the songs sung by “Princess Jasmine” in Aladdin (1992) and by “Mulan” in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004).

Her latest concert experience, Stage, Screen, and Everything In Between, will showcase Salonga’s versatile talent in songs from her legendary career, including selections not only from Miss Saigon, Les Mis, and Disney’s Aladdin and Mulan; but also from Stehen Sondheim’s Old Friends, and other Broadway shows, as well as some pop anthems and other musical surprises, making the evening a musical journey sure to spark joy in all.

BØRNS: A Decade of Dopamine

Thanks to the singular way his songs weave together glam rock, indie pop, psychedelia, and EDM—a sound he’s dubbed “Pheromone Electro Pop”—BØRNS (aka Garrett Clark Borns) has been making waves on the music scene since he released his debut single, “10,000 Emerald Pools,” in 2014. He followed this by touring and performing at festivals including Lallapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Las Vegas’ own Life is Beautiful festival, before the release of his first studio album, Dopamine, in October 2015. Propelled by the platinum-certified “Electric Love” and the accompanying Dopamine Tour, the 23-year-old BØRNS became embedded in the zeitgeist.

Citing David Bowie, Prince, and Freddie Mercury as influences, BØRNS has become known for his distinctive voice, artistic vision, and androgynous personal style, collaborating with a number of designers and fellow artists, including Gucci and Lana del Rey.

After kicking off 2025 with the release of his most recent EP, Honeybee, in January, and that of his latest single, “High Speed Chasing,” in June, BØRNS is returning to Las Vegas with a stop on his The Decade of Dopamine Tour.

“10,000 Emerald Pools,” BØRNS’ first single, has been featured in commercials for L.L. Bean, Simply Lemonade, Fiat Chrysler, and Hyundai; on the television series The Originals, iZombie, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and The Fall of the House of Usher; and in the films The Space Between Us and I Feel Pretty. “10,000 Emerald Pools” has been streamed nearly 180 million times on Spotify, while the music video has been viewed over 14 million times on YouTube. 269 77 31

“Electric Love,” BØRNS’ best-selling single, has been featured in commercials for Chrysler and Hulu; on the television series The Flash, Maid, iZombie, and Love Island; and in the films Every Day, Dog Years, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, and Nerve. “Electric Love” has been streamed nearly 1.3 billion times on Spotify, while the music video has been viewed over 188 million times on YouTube. The song also inspired the viral Electric Love Kiss Trend on TikTok.

“High Speed Chasing” is BØRNS’ latest single, having dropped in June 2025. It is a light, breezy contemplation on love that evokes driving in a convertible on a nice summer day.
